Today poledancer ALK competed in the final of Miss Poledance Japan at Warehouse in Azabu-juban. The overall level was really high and in the end she couldn’t come home with the trophy but it was a great chance for her to show her skills and learn from other top level poledancers.
I was impressed that there were so many different styles of poledance, from the straight-up athletics of winner Yukari, to the gorgeously sexy atmospherics of Ryoco Jackson and the elegant appeal of rhythmic gymnast Erika, not to mention the awesome dramatic flow of ALK! This made it extemely difficult to judge who was “better” but it was inspiring to see how far poledance has come as an art, with such a wide range of expression.
Congratulations to all the girls who took part.
Some of you are probably wondering why there are no Chaos live gigs this month and why downloads on soundcloud don’t work (streaming is still fine) this is because we are putting together the Chaos Royale album (at last!) and preparing for some other works showcasing poledance and lots of noise. Coming soon – updates for the website, more Chaos Royale original jewelry and accessories and possibly some interesting collaborations.
It’s gonna be worth it. Keep the faith.
